Redevelopment of the Guinness Brewery
RPS Planners successfully managed and guided the masterplanning and redevelopment of the Guinness Brewery Complex at St. James Gate through the planning system.
RPS has worked successfully with Diageo (the owners of the world famous Guinness brewery) in Ireland for many years. The Guinness Brewery has operated in Dublin city for over 250 years. The existing working brewery is the largest industrial complex in Dublin city and the home of one of Dublin's best known and most successful tourist attractions - the Guinness Storehouse.
RPS was appointed by Diageo in 2010 as planning consultants to provide a full range of professional planning services including strategic planning advice, on-going advice to the project team, engagement with Dublin City Council, preparation of a Masterplan (with RKD Architects), negotiating a variation to the Dublin City Development Plan and preparation of a planning application for the new Guinness brewery on lands to the north of James's Street.
