RPS has successfully developed and delivered bespoke training programmes for a range of different sectors on environmental, engineering, health and safety and communications topics.

The technical expertise of our consultants across planning, environment, water, waste, energy, transport, structures, project & contract management, health & safety, sustainability and project communications allows RPS to create and deliver training programmes on a diverse range of topics to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Our approach to training is to identify potential participants, scope their training needs in a Training Needs Assessment, assess current competencies, identify knowledge gaps and examine options for the development, delivery, assessment and certification of trainees.

Our trainers work to best international practice standards, are supported by our integrated and multi-skilled professional staff and are leading experts in their particular fields. RPS has pioneered the development of core skills in partnership with our clients. We use innovative and cost effective delivery strategies to minimise the costs for trainees and their employers.

The Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Chemical Agents) Regulations, 2001 apply to any enterprise where hazardous chemical agents as used.

RPS has developed and delivered to numerous Clients’ chemical safety awareness training. Chemical Safety Training is designed for those who have the potential to be exposed to chemicals in the workplace. Participants will understand the physical and health hazards of chemicals used in the workplace and the importance of the MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) to identify methods of protection using safe work practices, emergency procedures and personal protective equipment (PPE).

This course details the responsibilities for Designers, Project Supervisors for the Design Process (PSDP) and Project Supervisors for the Construction Stage (PSCS) as required under the Safety, Health & Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2013.

RPS has developed and delivered to numerous clients a two-day course on the Management of the Construction Design Process in the Republic of Ireland. This course is accredited by the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH). This course is the only PSDP related training approved by the construction Industry Federation (CIF) in Ireland.

Water Services Training

Water Services Training

Water Services Training on behalf of the Water Services National Training Group for Local Authorities (led by Tipperary North County Council).

RPS provides water service training across the spectrum of water delivery requirements covering design, specialist knowledge, legislative requirements and their implementation and the use of software and tools for their delivery. This capability has been developed through the specialist expertise of our key staff, evolved by in-house training of staff in practical ‘live’ project situations and formalised CPD training. RPS has focused on developing specific tailor made training for our local authority clients in conjunction with the Water Services National Training Group via on the job project training and courses on the National Project Control System, Guidance on Preparation of Strategic Water Plans, and Hydraulic Modelling Use. Our track record in technical training has been particularly successful in Water Conservation and Demand Management including Leak Detection, Leakage Analysis and Targeting and DMA Design. Courses are designed to be practical in nature and deliver maximum return to our clients by equipping their staff to save water as efficiently as possible.

In addition, we offer basic to professional training in sustainable urban drainage systems (SUDS), flood studies and design, water and wastewater treatment process design, plant commissioning and operation, procurement, environmental impact statements and strategic environmental assessments.
