Shell E & P Ireland Ltd.
RPS was appointed by Shell E&P Ireland Ltd. (SEPIL) to find a modified route for the Corrib Onshore Gas Pipeline.
The approved route includes a 4.9km tunnel under Sruwaddacon Bay. This element of the Corrib gas field development project will link the Corrib Gas Field (located over 80km offshore) to the Gas Terminal at Bellanaboy, Co. Mayo. The scope of the contract includes a full range of technical services to the Corrib Gas Partners – Shell, Statoil & Vermillion – for the rerouting, planning, environmental assessment, permitting and construction management of the onshore pipeline from the landfall point to the reception terminal. Construction began in July 2011 and was completed in December 2015. The Corrib Onshore Gas Pipeline won the Engineers Ireland Outstanding Project of the Year Award in 2016.
