Rail Procurement Agency (RPA)
RPS has prepared, in association with the Rail Procurement Agency, a series of planning research reports and corridor analysis exercises, all as part of the evolving rationale for the LUAS network, and Environmental Impact Statements for the development of the LUAS Lines A, B and B1.
Both Line A and Line B are now operational. The EIS for LUAS Line BI has been recently completed and submitted as part of a Railway Order application to the Minister for Transport.
RPS was also appointed by the Rail Procurement Agency RPA in 2005 to provide Environmental Civil and Structural Engineering Services to the Luas. Construction of the 7.5km extension to the Green Line commenced in March 2007 and involved the construction, installation and operation of a twin tracked light rail transit system with designed provision for future upgrade to Metro. The proposed Dublin Metro represents one of Ireland’s largest transport infrastructural projects.RPS was responsible for the design and preparation of construction drawings, schedules and specifications for four new major bridge and viaduct structures, a tunnel and over 1km of track on podium and retaining structures through the Central Park Development.
