RPS has its origins in the evaluation and planning of airport proposals. Following work for the Roskill Commission examining the options for London’s third airport, RPS was retained by BAA to assist in the promotion of both Stansted, through extensive Public Inquiries during the period 1977-83, and the proposed Terminal 5 at Heathrow, on which work began in 1989 and continued through the long Public Inquiry.
To complement the company’s high calibre environmental and planning expertise, RPS has acquired considerable specialist airport masterplanning and detailed design development skills to enable airport clients to realise their growth aspirations.
Our specialist airport architects, engineers and masterplanners have undertaken a broad range of studies and designs within the airports arena.
From runway extensions at Fuerteventura Airport, Spain, to cargo facilities at Shenhzen International Airport, China, airfield relocation studies at Barra, Western Isles, to the development of the drainage and pollution control strategy for the entire airfield at Dublin Airport, our people are solving problems at airports worldwide.
