RPS Selected by Summit Power for Texas Clean Energy Project

23 September 2009

RPS has been retained by Summit Power Group, Inc. to support their efforts in developing a 400 MW IGCC power plant near Odessa, Texas. The Texas Clean Energy Project (TCEP) is a "NowGen" Carbon Capture Facility and will incorporate Carbon Capture and Sequestration (CCS) technology to capture 90 percent of the CO2, more carbon than any commercial-scale power generation facility in the world.

The proposed IGCC plant for the TCEP uses fully warranted and commercially proven technology and equipment from Siemens, including two SFG-500 gasifiers, the power island with an F-class combustion turbine, and controls. RPS will support the efforts of the TCEP team by providing regulatory consulting and working to secure the air permit authorization. RPS was selected for the project based on our permitting experience with IGCC facilities in Texas, as well our reputation as a leader in the environmental consulting marketplace.
