Natural Resources

RPS combines scientific excellence and superior technical skills and advice to support the management of Australia’s precious natural resources.

As a multidisciplinary firm, we not only have a broad conceptual understanding, but can also the deal with the many different interactions and ensure environmental issues are not dealt with in isolation.

RPS employs talented people from a diverse mix of disciplines including hydrogeologists and hydrologists, mapping and GIS specialists, archaeologists, soil and sediment scientists, ecologists and environmental scientists and water resource engineers.

We have specialists working across a broad range of natural resources fields, from catchments and waterways, wetlands and lakes through to marine sciences.

Working with a range of clients including the agricultural sector, we are experts in the fields of soil sciences and sediment and erosion control.

RPS is also focused on ecological planning and management for natural areas, for example corridor analysis and land management plans, usually for state or local governments.

We are well regarded in the field of irrigation management, including undertaking innovative work involving the re-use of CSG water.

A significant portion of our water resources work supports national water reform activities, from high level policy advice through to irrigation reform and environmental water management, where we have end to end involvement from approvals and planning, through communication, consultation and strategic planning to policy development and the ‘nuts and bolts’ of water management.

Our natural resources clients rely on us to genuinely understand and work towards meeting their specific goals, understanding complex regulatory environments and delivering industry-leading solutions with maximum reliability and efficiency.
