RPS has been engaged to provide early survey works for North Queensland's newest sporting venue - the 25,000 seat North Queensland Stadium complex in Townsville.
Having previously completed cadastral and detail survey works on the site on behalf of former landowners Leightons & Devine for the proposed ‘South Bank’ waterfront development, the Department of State Development has called on RPS to provide further detail survey work for the new stadium project.
This information, which includes a full survey of the site’s natural boundary along Ross Creek, is of vital importance to the architects and engineers working on the new stadium’s design.
Once complete, North Queensland Stadium will be home to the North Queensland Cowboys National Rugby League (NRL) team, incorporate state-of-the-art facilities for sporting and community events, and include room for a future entertainment centre venue.
The stadium is expected to be completed in early 2020 in time for the commencement of the 2020 NRL season.
