In 2015 RPS was appointed by the New South Wales Department of Education as project manager for the new Rathmines Public School Hall & Canteen project.
Appointed at the inception stage, our team has managed the design, tender and construction phases of the $1.5 million project, including the following scope of works:
Review of architectural design team documentation and assistance with client award.
Identification of school and Department of Education key project and design requirements, which aligned with education service deliverables and asset guidance.
Completion of ground investigation works including service identification, location and site marking.
Management of all communication and negotiation on design parameters and the determination of scope inclusion with the insurance loss adjustor.
Development, review, amendment and sign-off of concept, schematic and final design for tender, inclusive of all Quantity Surveyor cost reports, review and communication.
Tender and contract documentation drafting, completion of pre-tender report, release to market, tender phase management and lead officer in tender review, negotiation and award.
Management of all construction works, inclusive of progress and project reference group (PRG) meetings, financial management (head contractor & all appointed consultants), variations, extensions of time, commission and handover.
The project was completed while the school remained operational and all works were completed on time and within budget in February 2017.
