Queensland Hunter Gas Pipeline

Queensland Hunter Gas Pipeline

Queensland Hunter Gas Pipeline was a proposal to build an 850 kilometre underground pipeline to transport natural gas from the south central Queensland gas field to Newcastle in NSW.

This program involves constructing a pipeline from Wallumbilla in Queensland to the Hunter region, with associated pipeline laterals and the potential for associated gas-fired power plants near Lydell and Armidale.

RPS managed the environmental assessment and ultimate delivery of NSW planning approvals. This involved extensive consultation with a range of stakeholders, and engagement and management of specialist sub-consultants.
