The Buffel Park Accommodation Village (BPAV) forms part of BMA’s accommodation solution for workers from BMA mines, BMA personnel and contractors visiting the area, as well as for contractors associated with operations, construction and maintenance activities at BMA mines.
BPAV is a purpose built long-term accommodation village located approximately 17km south-west of the township of Moranbah, and comprises 1,945 rooms, on-site hotel and shop for residents together with dining and recreation facilities.
A number of applications and approvals have been sought and granted for the BPAV. These applications include changes to the Caval Ridge Mine EIS through the change request process under the SDPWOA with the Office of the Coordinator-General. Following the granting of the change reports, an application for MCU was made to the Isaac Regional Council. RPS was responsible for the preparation of a change report to the Coordinator-General together with the lodgement and coordination of the development application to Isaac Regional Council. The project involved the RPS planning, environmental and landscape architecture service lines.
