RPS has been engaged by the Department of Defence to provide project management and contract administration services for the $370 million Battlefield Airlifter (BFA) and Main Operating Base (MOB) Facilities Project at RAAF Base Amberley in Queensland.
The BFA MOB project will provide new facilities to support and sustain the operation of the Royal Australian Air Force’s (RAAF) fleet of ten C-27J aircraft, and includes a new headquarters and office accommodation, maintenance and hangar complex, aircraft parking apron and training system facility.
A new fire station, transit accommodation (200 rooms up to 400 beds), Base Briefing Court Room and Ceremonial Store (BBRCCS) will also be delivered as part of the project, in addition to new facilities for the Australian Air Force Cadets.
RPS project managers have been working on BFA and MOB and are currently in the delivery phase with works progressing on all facilities. The final stage of works is expected to be completed by February 2019.
