RPS was engaged by Airservices Australia to provide superintendent services for the development of a new Aviation Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) facility at Sunshine Coast Airport.
Built under a 'Design & Construct' contract, RPS' specialist team of project managers guided the ten month project end-to-end, reviewing contractor progress, advising the client and resolving construction issues where necessary throughout the construction program.
Now complete, the new Aviation Rescue and Fire Fighting Facility (ARFF) represents the first example of a successful prototype design that allows ARFF staff to work in a highly functional, modern environment that complies with the complex regulatory conditions of the aviation industry.
Due to the strict regulatory requirements placed on ARFF and complexity of work delivered 'airside', our team had to address many risks and challenges throughout the ten month program. Despite this, the project was delivered ahead of schedule and within budget.
A highly successful project, Airservices Australia's Sunshine Coast ARFF facility provides a benchmark for the design and development of all future airport fire stations in Australia.
